With over 1000 + travel and accommodation request being managed by the L&I team on a monthly basis, a need for a user-friendly yet roust travel booking platform was identified.
This has lead to the development of Waseelaty which translates to “My Way”.
The custom build platform is available in both as a mobile application (iOS & Android) and a web based solution on to which registered users can login with their vantage ID’s to confirm their travel and accommodation plans on real time basis.
The schedulers will have a uniform platform to monitor the booking requests from Muscat and Khazzan.ObjectivesTo create a unified platform where users can book and manage the bookings on real time basis from their phones or laptops.To reduce our dependency on email based managementTo establish a safe, secure and robust integrated solution which can be upgraded to the reflect future requirementsTo Incorporate maximum possible automation to the booking process to reduce the dependence on the schedulers to avoid delays or errorsTo create a application where the users could monitor the status of the historical, current and future bookings at ease.To promote paperless travelling process to ensure a environmental friendly working atmosphereModulesTravelers ModuleThe Travelers Module has 6 sections:1) Airport Pickup and Drop offBP Staff and BP visitors can book their request to be picked up or dropped off at the airports whilst on business trips.2) Local Pickup and Drop OffBP Staff and BP visitors can request a city transfer such as Hotel to Office.3) Accommodation at Khazzan Block requestBP Staff and Visitors can book at predefined camps at Khazzan block.
A confirmed room is a prerequisite to travel to the block whilst using the Bus.4) Bus Travel Booking RequestBP staff and BP visitors can request a bus ticket using the this module once their accommodation is confirmed.
They can also reserve their seat on the bus for the date of travel.
Once the accommodation is confirmed, the seats are automatically confirmed without delay.5) Flights to Khazzan Block requestBP Staff visiting Khazzan block for trips shorter than 2 days can book their flight.
The request is reviewed by the administrators to ensure compliance with the prerequisites and them forwarded to PDO administrators.
Once the seats are confirmed from PDO, the request is updated in the app to confirmed and the users will get an SMS on the reservation details.6) My Bookings Management sectionBP users can review and manage their current and upcoming travel request from this section.Administrators ModuleDrivers Module
